Sudurpaschim province register second consecutive win

Sudurpaschim Province has bagged their second consecutive win in the ongoing U-19 National Tournament. Sudurpaschim thrashed defending champions Lumbini Province by 100 runs at Mulpani Cricket Ground on Friday.

Forced to bat first, Sudurpaschim piled up 180 runs before being bowled out in 49.5 overs. Dipak Bohara scored 54 runs, while Gajendra Bohara added 19 runs. Opener Dipak Bohara and Naren Saud also contributed 17 runs each.

Lumbini’s skipper Bishal Bikram Kc took three wickets for his side. Nirmal Gurung took two scalps from his spell, bowling five maidens and conceding just 20 runs.

In reply, Lumbini were bundled out for a mere 80 runs in just 21 overs. Akash Chand was the hero bagging a fifer in just three overs (3-0-13-5). Hemant Dhami also pocketed three wickets.

Only three batters could score double-digit figures, while an equal number of batters were sent back for a duck. Opener Aakash Tripathi scored 22; meanwhile, 20 runs were extra.

Akash Chand was adjudged as player of the match for his five-wicket haul.

Sudurpaschim thrashed Karnali Province in their previous match.
