Tez wins the inaugural One Day Tournament (NPL)

Dhangadi – Panchakanya Tez defeated Jagdamba Giants by 97 runs to win the inaugural One Day Tournament of Nepal Premier League at Fapla Ground, Dhangadi.

Tez were invited to bat first after Shakti Gauchan – Captain of Jagdamba Giants won the toss. Tez’s opener Sanjay Shrestha smashed 74 off 77 balls to take the team to a strong position but Shivankar Sanyasi (10-2-31-3) stopped them from reaching 250 runs. He was well supported by Nizamuddin Ansari , Sompal Kami & Shakti Gautam who shared six wickets. Captain Sharad Vesawkar played a anchor sheet as he took the team to respectable 200 runs despite a collapse in middle overs. He scored 45 runs in 68 balls.

Chasing 201 runs in a slow wicket was never an easy job for the team in this NPL. Bhupendra Thapa and Naresh Budhayair fought with 22 (40) and 29 (34) respectively while Sompal Kami and rest were the victims of Veteran Off spinner Raj Kumar Pradhan who grabbed six wickets to wrap up the inning of Giants in 31.4 Overs. Sushil Kandel was the other pick of the bowler for Tez who took three wickets.

Raj Kumar Pradhan was adjudged Man of the Match while Bhuwan Karki was picked as the Man of the Series.
