TU Getting Upgraded for Indoor Practice

Tribhuwan Interantional Cricket Ground is set to be upgraded with a indoor training hall, the first of its breed in Nepal.

National Sports Councila(NSC) started construction of the indoor training hall yesterday. Youth and Sports Minister Ram Kumar Shrestha laid the foundation stone at TU yesterday.

The talks about need of a indoor training hall first came to light when lot of training sessions for ICC World T20 Qualifier were washed out due to rain including. Chris Harris who came to Nepal as a batting coach from Australia could give only six of the 10 days to training the players and the rest were washed out.

NSC had started the construction process after a taskforce formed right after Nepal’s ICC World Cup Qualification pointed out the need of an indoor cricket hall.

NSC employed R&C Constructors for the construction of the Indoor Hall with in 40 days. The estimated cost of the construction is 7.4 million.

With the indoor hall and the gym of National Cricket Academy, the players will be able to train on any season. The site for the training hall is right beside to outdoor nets and in front of the NCA building.
