Janakpur- Host R-7 Janakpur took the title of U-16 INTER SCHOOL GIRL’S NATIONAL CRICKET TOURNAMENT 2015 title defeating R-9 Dhangadhi in a close encounter by 10 runs.
In the final played in Hariwan Ground, Sarlahi, Janakpur won the toss and batted first. Riding on Mamta Chaudhary’s 44 runs off 39 balls that included 4 fours and a six, Janakpur posted 115/6 in allotted overs. Anuradha Chaudhary 15 runs and Arati Chaudhary 12 runs also made vital contributions for Janakpur. Kavita Kunwar grabbed two wickets for Dhangadhi while Poonam Pharswan and Menuka Kunwar also took one wicket each.
In reply, Dhangadhi could only manage 105 for 4 playing all 20 overs. Bindu Rawal remained not out 42 off 42 balls but she couldn’t inspire her team to win. Kabita Joshi slammed a quickfire 29 runs 13 balls. Karishma Dhamala picked two wickets for Janakpur.
