KATHMANDU: Bangladesh will become the first ICC Full Member men's team to play a bilateral international series in Nepal when they visit Kirtipur for three T20Is in March 2027.
The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) confirmed that the matches will be played at the TU International Cricket Ground on March 26, 28 and 30.
The landmark series, organised through a joint initiative between CAN and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), will also be the first bilateral contest between the two senior men's teams.

No Test-playing nation has previously visited Nepal to contest a bilateral international series. The Bangladesh tour will therefore become the most significant bilateral assignment staged in the country so far.
The three matches will be dedicated to those who lost their lives in the recent devastating floods in Nepal.
CAN said the series would pay tribute to the victims while expressing solidarity with bereaved families and communities affected by the disaster.
The two boards described cricket as an important means of connecting the people of Nepal and Bangladesh. They intend to use the series to carry a message of friendship, compassion and cooperation between the neighbouring countries.
The agreement extends beyond the three senior internationals. BCB has committed to supporting the development of women’s cricket, age-group cricket and capacity-building programmes in Nepal.
The boards will also encourage future Nepal A tours and bilateral A-team series, providing emerging Nepali players with further exposure to higher-level competition.
The tour developed from diplomatic discussions initiated in Bangladesh. Nepal’s Ambassador to Bangladesh, Ghanshyam Bhandari, raised the possibility of a series during a meeting with Bangladesh’s State Minister for Youth and Sports, Mohammad Aminul Haque.
Bhandari subsequently met BCB president Tamim Iqbal as CAN and BCB worked to finalise the series and explore wider cricketing cooperation.
Nepal and Bangladesh have met twice in men's T20Is, with both encounters coming at the T20 World Cup.
Nepal scored 126/5 in their first meeting in Chattogram in 2014 before Bangladesh reached 132/2 in 15.3 overs to win by eight wickets.
Their second match was played in Kingstown during the 2024 T20 World Cup. Nepal dismissed Bangladesh for 106 but were then bowled out for 85, losing by 21 runs. Bangladesh’s defence of 106 was the lowest successful defence in men’s T20 World Cup history.
The 2027 series will give Nepal their first opportunity to face Bangladesh outside a global tournament and their first chance to play the Tigers before a home crowd.
It will also provide Nepal with high-level preparation ahead of their second Asia Cup appearance later in 2027. Nepal secured qualification by defeating the United Arab Emirates in the ACC Men's Premier Cup final in Malaysia.
