CN Report/Kathmandu – Vidhya Sadan H.S.S (Birgunj) and Sunshine H.S.S (Mahendranagar) made it to the final of Inter School Boys Cricket Tournament 2071 defeating Bhairahawa H.S.S (Bhairahawa) and Scientific Educational Academy respectively.
In a match played at Siddhartha Rangashala, Bhairahawa Vidhya Sadan H.S.S defeated Bhairahawa H.S.S by five wickets. Bowling first, Vidhya Sadan pakced Bhairahawa H.S.S for 103 runs in 16.5 overs. Shah Alam top scored with 20 runs whereas Shankar Rana made 19 runs for the region no. 4 team. Alfaj Mansari and Samsad Ansari grabbed 3 wickets Birgunj.
Riding on 21 runs from Alfaj, 19 runs from Saif Ali Harari and 15 not out from Samsad Ansari, Birgunj chased the target with four balls to spare. Alfaj was declared Man of the Match for his all-round performance.
In the second semi-final, Bhim Sarki single handedly won the game for Sunrise H.S.S (Mahendranagar). He scored a blistering 49 not our form 36 balls and took 2 wickets in return to help his team record a 26 runs win over Scientific Educational Institute ( Janakpur).
Apart from Bhim, only Anil Kumar Thapa contributed 20 in the teams total of 118/8. Three Mahendranagar batsman were run outs. Kailash Mandal took other 2 wickets for Janakpur.
Mahendranagar then bundled Janakpur for a paltry score of 85 runs to win the match by 26 runs. Prakash Saud took 4 wickets and finished with figures of 4-0-9-4 whereas Bhim took 2 wickets.
Manoj Raut played an attacking knock of 39 runs from 17 balls with 3 fours and four sixes at the end but couldn’t win it for his team as only two other batsman scored in double digit for Janakpur.
Final will be held at Siddhartha Rangashala tomorrow.
