KATHMANDU: The fourth CCRC ICC T20 Cricket Tournament will start from June 16, informed the principal of Capital College and Research Centre during a press conference on Tuesday. The regular tournament has a budget more than the national level tournament run by Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN).

Organizers have expected 12 teams to participate in the tournament and the matches will be played in league-cum-knockout basis.

Addressing the press, CCRC Principle Hari Chandra Lamichhane said that the college has reached its 10th year and this issue is a special event for them. “We organize the tournament every two years and this is our fourth edition. Due to some technical reason we were not able to run the tournament last year.”

Answering the queries of media persons, Lamichhane said that any national players can play in the tournament. “The players have to join the colleges to participate in the tournament.”

He further added that the U-19 players who are in the closed camp can also participate in the tournament as CAN has agreed to release the players.

The winner of the tournament will receive Rs 50,000 and the runner-up will bag a purse of Rs 25,000.
