ICC – The International Cricket Council today announced the schedule for both the ICC World Cricket League (WCL) Championship and the ICC Intercontinental Cup from 2015 to 2017.
The WCL Championship is ICC’s premier 50-over competition for the leading Associate Members. The top countries at the end of 2017 will earn direct passage into the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2018, while the winner will also have the opportunity to challenge for a place on the ICC’s ODI Rankings from 2018 onwards.
Fixtures in ICC WCLC event is played over seven rounds on a home or away basis, however, in a change from previous events, round 7 (in late 2017) will this time be played simultaneously in a common venue that will be announced in due course.
