
Kathmandu Gorkhas has revealed its list of retained players ahead of the second season of the Nepal Premier League (NPL), with star all-rounder Karan KC continuing as captain and marquee player.
Previously known as Kathmandu Gurkhas, the team has rebranded itself as Kathmandu Gorkhas for the upcoming season. The franchise has opted to retain six players from last year's squad, including marquee Karan KC. Additionally, Rashid Khan, Dipesh Kandel, Bhim Sharki, Pratik Shrestha and Shahab Alam are also retained.
Meanwhile, Krishna Karki, Raju Rijal, Sumit Maharjan, Bibek KC, and Shankar Rana have been released as the team looks to reshape its lineup for a stronger showing this season.
Kathmandu Gorkhas finished fifth in the league table last year, narrowly missing out on the playoffs with four wins and three defeats in the group stage.
Three franchises - Sudurpaschim Royals, Chitwan Rhinos and Lumbini Lions have already revealed their retention list.
