Nepal face a heavy defeat against Scotland

Nepal national cricket team’s Namibia tour comes to an end without any victory after a heavy defeat against Scotland in the last match of the series. Scotland were victorious by eight wickets after bowling out Nepal for a mere 119 runs.

Chasing a tiny total, the Scottish team achieved the feat with 33 overs spare losing just two wickets. Opener George Munsey smacked 28-balls 45 with seven fours and two sixes. Christopher McBride remained unbeaten 46 and was adjudged as player of the match.

Gulshan Jha and Dipendra Singh Airee picked up one wicket each for Nepal.

Earlier, opting to bat first, Nepal were bundled out for 119 runs in 35.3 overs. Brandon McMullen, Safyaan Sharif, and Mark Watt grabbed two wickets each. Christopher McBride, Chris Sole, and Chris Greaves also pocketed one each.

Skipper Rohit Paudel scored the highest 47 runs for Nepal. Sompal Kami and Dipendra Singh Airee made 16 and 14 runs respectively.

Nepal ended the tour with one point after being unable to grab a victory throughout the series. The first match against Namibia was called off due to the rain forcing both teams to share the point. After the poor series result Nepal’s ODI status is in danger.
