Nepal to leave for Sri Lanka on Thursday

Cricnepal/Kathmandu: Nepal National Cricket Team is travelling to Sri Lanka on Thursday ahead of the Emerging Teams Cup. Nepal will have a 15 days training and practice session in Sri Lanka before they head to Singapore for the tournament that kicks off from August 15.

The team will play three to four friendlies with the U-23 side of the Sri Lanka Cricket. They will also face the provincial team as per the sources.

Cricket Association of Nepal(CAN) will bid farewell to the team on Thursday Morning at National Sports Council Office, Tripureshwor in honorary presence of member secretary of NSC, Yubaraj Lama as stated in the press release.

Nepal squad includes Paras Khadka(C), Gyanendra Malla (Vice Captain), Sharad Veshwarkar, Subash Khakural(WK), Avinash Karna, Prithu Baskota, Shakti Gauchan, Rahul Vishwakarma, Basanta Regmi, RamNaresh Giri, Pradip Airee, Sagar Pun, Binod Bhandari, Chandra Saud & Anil Mandal.

Nepal will face Afghanistan in its first match on 17th of August. While, India Under 23 and Pakistan U23 are the other sides Nepal will face in the group. Pool B consists of Sri Lanka U-23, Bangladesh U-23, UAE and the host Singapore.
