PCB invites Nepal for T20 series

Kathmandu – Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has invited Nepal to take part in upcoming Punjab Festival T20 Series to be held from April 11-20 in Punjab, Pakistan.

The invitation was confirmed by Acting general secretary Uttam Karmacharya of Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) to Republica. “PCB has officially invited Nepal for the T20 Series to be held in Punjab of Pakistan”, he further added.

PCB has also invited Afghanistan and UAE along with Nepal to participate in the event. “This is the good opportunity for Nepal team and a beneficial one however we have not decided whether to send the team there or not. Once they fully assure us about the security for playing, CAN will discuss about it in the board meeting and finalise the proceedings.”, Karmacharya said.

In March 2009, Sri Lankan were the victim of terrorists attack and since then major cricketing nation are avoiding the Pakistan tour citing the security issues and were playing them in Dubai and UAE instead. However, PCB invited low profile Kenyan team in december last year to play five 50-over matches against their A team.
