Pokhara Avengers taste the first victory in sixth match

Pokhara Avengers have registered their first win in the Nepal T20 League. After losing five matches in a row, Pokhara finally earned the first point in the tournament. Kushal Malla’s all-round performance helped them bag a three wickets win with five balls spare.

Chasing a big total of 188, Sumit Maharjan (38) and Aasif Sheikh (45) yielded an aggressive start sharing 65 runs for the first wicket. Kushal Malla then smacked 22-ball 40 runs with five sixes. Siddhant Lohani hammered 23 runs from ten balls before Abhimanyu Mithun scored a winning run.

Karan KC, Umair Ali and Prakash Jaisi pocketed a couple of wickets each for Far West United.

Earlier, Opting to bat first, Far West United finished on 187/9 after the allotted 20 overs. Umair Ali scored the highest 42 runs. Opener Dev Khanal scored a sluggish 33 runs whilst Rashid Khan ended the inning with electrifying 32 from 15 balls.

Zahir Khan was the pick of a bowler grabbing three wickets. Tul Thapa and Ameer Hamza also pocketed a pair of wickets each. Kushal Malla was adjudged as player of the match for his decent performance.
