Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) on Thursday named Rohit Kumar Paudel as vice-captain for the upcoming ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 in the USA and Scotland.

The current Nepal Men’s Cricket team was without a vice-captain since Sandeep Lamichhane was handed the captaincy on 15 December 2021.

Paudel, 19, made his debut for Senior Men’s team on 3 August 2018 against the Netherlands. He has played 17 ODIs, 16 T20I, 32 List A, and 20 T20 matches so far in his career for Nepal. He is the current second-highest scorer for Nepal in the ongoing ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2, scoring 249 runs from 9 matches with an average of 35.57.

Rohit made his List A debut for Nepal in the 2018 ICC World Cricket League Division Two tournament on 8 February 2018.

In January 2019, Rohit became the youngest male cricketer (15y 335d) to score an international half-century. He also has an ODI century against P.N.G in Kirtipur. His maiden century came at the age of 19 years and 204 days.
