Sainik ‘A’ and ‘B’ maintains supremacy in School Cricket

Kathmandu- Sainik Awashiya Mahavidyalay maintained its supremacy in school cricket as both Sainik teams, SAMV ‘A’ and ‘B’, reached the finals of 8th COAS Inter School Running Cricket Tournament 2071, recording convincing wins over DAV school and Nepal Police School.

Sainik Awasiya Mahavidyalay ‘A’ Vs DAV

In the first semi-finals SAMV ‘A’ demolished DAV School by 75 runs. SAMV ‘A’ made 140/6 against DAV’s 65/9. Dinesh Pandit scored a fine 55 runs off 39 balls with four fours and one six for Sainik. VWangdi Magar aslo scored a quickfire 21 runs off 8 balls for the winning team. Saman Shrestha, Sujal Gupta, and Rohit Gupta grabbed two wickets each for DAV School.

Bishal Budhathoki and Saroj Dallakoti played major roles in restricting DAV to 65 runs. Both of theam shared 3 wickets each. Opener Subham Jhawari top scored for DAV with 23 runs.

Sainik Awasiya Mahavidyalaya ‘B’ Vs Nepal Police School

Aashish Chaulagain’s five- for helped SAMV ‘B’ defeat Nepal Police School by 59 runs in second semi-final. Ashish Chulagain’s figures of 4-0-15-5 helped SAMV ‘B’ restrict Nepal Police for just 44 runs in 13 overs after imposing a total of 103/7 in 20 overs.

Apart from opener Sabin Joshi’s 23 runs no other batsman scored in double digit figures for Nepal Police. Earlier, a collective bowling effort saw SAMV ‘B’ impose , 103/7 in 20 overs. Bhabin Magar top scored with 29 not out off 21 balls while Prasiddha Basyal and Amir Shrestha also contributed 24 and 19 runs respectively. Nepal Police mad five run outs while Prakash Rauniyar picked two wickets.

SAMV ‘A’ will face SAMV ‘B’ in th finals which will take place on March 06, 2015.
