Sidhant gives Biratnagar first win

Kathmandu- An all-round performance by Siddhant Lohani gave R-1 Biratnagar their first victory of the senior national cricket tournament 2071 over R-7 Pokhara at TU Ground, Kritipur on Wednesday.

Siddhant blasted a 25 ball 67 runs, with the fifty coming just off 19 balls and returned to pick one wicket in just 4 overs conceding 6 runs by the help of which Biratnagar recorded a 174 runs win over Pokhara. Siddhant’s innings included six fours and six sixes.

Biratnagar made 264/8 in 50 overs while Pokhara were bowled out for just 90 runs. Mehabbob Alam also scored 48 runs off 50 balls for Biratnagar. Dipesh Shrestha picked three wickets for Pokhara but it was Sushil Kandel who was more economical and also picked 2 wickets. He finished with fihures of 10-1-19-2.

Wicketkeeper batsman Akash Thapa top scored for Pokhara with 46 runs while other didn’t make significant contribution with the bat. Lalit Rajbanshi grabbed four wickets while Lakpa Lama took two wickets for Biratnagar.
