Dhangadhi- Merryland College (Biratnagar) VS Durga Laxmi Multiple Campus (Kailai)
Merryland College entered the quarter-finals of Hotel Devotee SPA Cup 2015 with a 22 runs win over Durga Laxmi Multiple Campus in the first match of the 3rd day.
Riding on Shivam Chauhan’s 51 off 38 balls and Vivek Jha’s 35 off just 15 balls Merryland posted 159 runs before being all out in 19.2 overs. Sanjay Pant took four wickets for Durga Laxmi while Bhuwan KC also got two wickets.
In reply, a collective bowling effort from Merryland saw them restrict Durga Laxmi for 137/9 in 20 overs, giving them a 22 runs win to enter the quarter finals. Rajvir Singh’s 58 runs off 38 balls went in vain for the losing side. Ramnares Giri and Manjeet Shrestha picked two wickets each for Merryland.
Hollyland HSS (Nepalgunj) VS Tikapur Multiple Campus (Kailali)
Hollyland HSS inspired by all-round performance from Hasan Akhtar thrashed Tikapur Multiple Campus by 80 runs to progress further.
Hasan’s magnificent innings off 47 runs off 34 balls helped Hollyand post 148/9 runs on the board, batting first. Hasan returned with figures 4-1-16-4 in the bowling to pack Tikapur for a mere 80 runs, handing them a 68 runs win. Mahesh Shahi top scored with 30 runs for Tikapur.
Akash Bista also took four wickets for the Holland.
