Subarna Shumsher Int’l Cricket Stadium in three years

Kathmandu- Nepal Government has decided to built an international cricket stadium in three years. Primer Minister Sushil Koirala inaugurated the project worth NRs 250 million amid a function at project site in Gamcha, Budhanilkantha.

Government provided 95 ropanis land for the project which is named after Subarna Shumsher, founding leader of Nepali Congress. The government decision came after immense pressure and criticism form players, media and fans over government’s inability to invest in cricket.

Nepal is in need of a cricket stadium shortly to play the ICC World Cricket League home matches and the complete construction of Mulpani Cricket Stadium is yet unknown. The government has come up with a positive-ambitious project but it is yet to see, if it will be completed in time or not.
