Surya Kumar Yadav scores his third T20I ton

Surya Kumar Yadav scored a scintillating ton against Sri Lanka in the final T20I match. Yadav smacked an unbeaten 112 as India finished 228/5 in the allotted 20 overs.

Becoming the only second Indian batter to score a ton in the decisive T20I match after Rohit Sharma, Yadav smoked nine sixes, and seven fours in his 51 balls knock. This is Yadav’s third T20I ton, and he becomes the first player to hit three T20I centuries outside the opening slot.

Surya Kumar took 45 balls to complete his ton, which is the second fastest by an Indian batter, only behind Rohit Sharma’s 35-ball century against Sri Lanka in 2017. Previously he scored a hundred against England and New Zealand in 2022.

Shubman Gilla and Rahul Tripathi contributed 46 and 35 runs, respectively, to help their team score big. In the end, Axar Patel hammered 21 runs from 9 balls.
