Bagmati Province face third defeat in a row

Bagmati Province has faced their third defeat in a row in the ongoing Prime Minister Cup National One Day Tournament. Lumbini Province thrashed them by eight wickets on Tuesday at Mulpani Cricket Ground. Earlier, Nepal Police Club and Province 1 defeated Gyanendra Malla’s side.

Following a modest target of 155 runs, skipper Dev Khanal’s 77 runs knock helped Lumbini accomplish the feat in 35.4 overs, losing just a couple of wickets. Khanal smashed eight fours and two sixes in his 119-balls inning. Prajjwol Thapa and Sandeep Rajali also contributed 29 runs each.

Bagmati were wrapped up for 154 in 38.1 overs after opting to bat first. Skipper Gyanendra Malla was the top scorer notching up 33 runs. Durgesh Thapa and Ashutosh Ghiraiya scored 32 and 22 runs, respectively. Anil Kharel was the pick of the bowler for Lumbini grabbing four wickets. Bishal Bikram Kc and Avishek Basnet also pocketed a couple of wickets each.

Bagmati Province, taken as the contender for the semifinalist from Group B, are knocked out after losing three consecutive games.
