CAN calls 20 players to closed training for Spain Tri-series

Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has called 20 players for closed training on Friday to prepare for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup League 2, scheduled for July, involving Namibia and Scotland.

Gyanendra Malla, Kushal Bhurtel, Aarif Sheikh, Paras Khadka, Dipendra Singh Airee, Aasif Sheikh, Kushal Malla, Binod Bhandari, Karan KC, Sandeep Lamichhane and Sompal Kami are among the players called for the closed camp at Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kathmandu.

International Cricket Council has confirmed Spain as a host nation however, the dates and fixtures are yet to announced.

Head coach Dav Whatmore has also arrived in Kathmandu for the closed training. He returned from Sri Lanka last Monday and completed three-day quarantine.

Prithu Baskota has also been included in the 20-men preliminary squad along with Sharad Vesawkar, who opted out from the recent Tri-Series in Nepal, is available. The final 15 will be picked at the end of the training camp.
