Ten10 (T10) is becoming highly popular around the world, and on Monday Cricket Kenya announced the start of a massive T10 competition in Africa that would begin in the middle of 2023.

The league, which will be known as Africa T10 and begin play in June 2023, will be the first of its kind in Africa and the second worldwide.

The goal of Cricket Kenya, one of the formerly rising powerhouses of African cricket, is to help the nation get back on track to reclaim its former glory.

A six-team, 34-game tournament featuring the quickest cricket format is planned. According to a media release from Cricket Kenya, the organisation looks forward to hosting an annual African gala event where the greatest international players will compete in the league.

“Each starting XI for Africa T10 will have 1 Associate Player, 1 African Player, 2 Kenyan Players, and 7 other Global Players. This will serve as Africa’s version of the Global T10 League “In the announcement, Cricket Kenya stated.

Manoj Patel, the chairman of Cricket Kenya, spoke on the agreement and stated, “We are thrilled to develop a short-format, yearly global cricket tournament in collaboration with Pacific Star Sports. Our effort would be extremely beneficial to African cricket in general and Kenya cricket in particular. It would be the second of its sort after the T10 League, which is located in the UAE, and we look forward to inviting all international T20 talents to participate.”

This is a tremendous development and a key turning point for cricket in the nation, which made its World Cup debut in 1996 and tried to break into the big leagues in 2003 by reaching the ICC ODI World Cup semifinals.
