Kathmandu, March 5 — The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has officially postponed the upcoming fixtures of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 that were scheduled to begin on March 10 in Kathmandu.
In a notice shared on social media, CAN confirmed that the matches have been postponed until further notice due to the current situation in the Middle East. The affected fixtures include those involving Nepal, Oman and the UAE.

The tri-nation series forms part of the League 2 pathway toward qualification for the 2027 50-over World Cup. The series was set to feature Nepal, the Emirates Cricket Board-governed UAE side, and Oman in a crucial round of ODI fixtures.
The postponement follows travel disruptions caused by airspace closures in parts of the Middle East, which had already placed the series in doubt. Earlier reports indicated that UAE officials were reviewing travel options amid safety concerns and flight cancellations.
CAN did not specify revised dates but said further consultations are ongoing. More updates are expected once participating boards and the ICC finalise a new schedule.
The postponed series carried significant importance for Nepal in the League 2 standings. After 20 matches, Nepal sit seventh with 12 points. Oman are fourth with 24 points, while the UAE are eighth with 10.
The Kathmandu leg offered Nepal an opportunity to close the gap in the table and strengthen its qualification prospects, with League 2 determining direct progression and further qualification routes toward the 2027 World Cup.
