Dhangadhi- Doti overshadowed Kanchanpur to take the regional title of Region NO.9 (Mahendranagar) beating the two times champion Kanchanpur by seven runs in the final played on Wednesday in Dhangadhi.
In a low scoring match, batting first, Doti only managed 69 runs in 24.1 overs.Apart from the 15 runs scored by Janak Singh, no other batsman crossed double digit mark for Doti. Rabi Bhatt and Dhan Bahadur Chand grabbed 3 wickets each to pack Doti for a paltry total.
Doti replied strongly as Bhuwan Thapa and Sagar Bhandair picked 4 and 3 wickets respectively to win the match for their team. Kanchanpur were only able to make 62 runs in a tense final. Bhim Sarki made 14 runs and Prakash Jha made 10 runs for the losing team.
Sunil Dhamala from Doti was declared the best batsman for his 88 runs and 6 six wickets in the competition. Bhim Sarki got the best batsman award and Sanjaya Pant(Kailali) got the best bowler award.
