Imran Khan suffers leg injuries after being shot in alleged attack

Pakistan’s one of the greatest cricketer and former prime minister Imran Khan, sustained a bullet injury in his leg after a gunman opened fire at a rally in Wazirabad, Pakistan.

The 70-year-old and at least four others were wounded during a political rally while his supporters marched on the capital Islamabad to demand snap elections. Khan was rushed to a hospital in Lahore, where he is safely recovering. No one was killed, according to reports. According to reports, one alleged attacker was shot dead while another was taken into police custody.

Imran Khan led Pakistan to their only ICC ODI World Cup triumph in 1992. Khan has 3807 runs and 362 wickets in Test matches while 3709 runs and 175 wickets in ODI. His averages (37 with the bat, 22 with the ball) put him at the top of the quartet of allrounders (Ian Botham, Richard Hadlee, and Kapil Dev being the others) who dominated Test cricket in the 1980s.
