Kathmandu- Nepal Police Club and New Horizon Cricket Club registered impressive win to reach the semi-final of 1st Ruslan Cup 2072.
Sunil Dhamala and Sandeep Sunar’s unbeaten 116 runs opening partnership helped NPC chase 112 runs in 15 overs, to register a 10 wickets win against Makwanpur Cricket Club. Dhamala scored 49 balls 59 not out and Sunar remained unbeaten on 51 runs off 42 balls.
Earlier, Lalit Bhandari’s 3 wickets, Manjeet Shrestha and Prem Tamang’s 2 wickets each helped them restrict Makwan Cricket Club 112 for 10 in 19.5 overs. Sashil Kansakar top scored for the losing side with 26 runs off 33 balls.
Shankar Rana was adjudged the man of the match.
In the fourth quarter-final, New Horizon from Butwal, defeated host Kathmandu Cricket Training Center (KCTC), by six wickets after Sushan Bhari’s splendid bowling performance.
Man of the Match Bhari grabbed four wickets in four overs conceding just 8 runs as New Horizon bundled KCTC out for just 96 runs. Devendra Somare also picked three wickets for the winning team. Adil Khan top scored for the host with 18 runs while Sanjay Basnet contributed 17 runs.
New Horizon had very little trouble chasing the target. They chased the target losing four wickets in 16.4 overs after Nirmal Thapa scored 31 runs and Prakash KC blasted 21 runs off just 11 balls.
New Horizon will play Tribhuwan Army Club in the first semi-final while Nepal Police Club will face Armed Police Force in the second semi-final.
