CAN ICC

International Cricket Council (ICC) sanctioned the first season of the Nepal T20 League on Tuesday, the 12th of July. The first edition of Nepal T20 is all set to take place from 24th September to 22nd October in Kathmandu.

Nepal T20 will be the only official T20 Cricket League in Nepal as the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) declared other national T20 leagues (EPL, PPL, and DPL) will no more be sanctioned as the national league.

CAN has already roped in Seven3Sports Private Limited as a professional partner of the tournament, They were chosen after deep evaluation and extensive background investigations by CAN itself.

The initial names of the six teams participating in Nepal’s major T20 league are already announced, called Biratnagar, Janakpur, Kathmandu, Pokhara, Bhairahawa, and Farwestern. Six of Nepal’s seven provinces are represented by these locations, and potential club owners are free to name their squads after them. Karnali Province has not yet been included by CAN.

Earlier in the last month ICC removed the economic sanction from Nepal and complimented CAN’s top governance in running and promoting cricket in Nepal.
