Nepal to face Oman first in Asia Cup Qualifiers

Nepal will start their Asia Cup Qualifiers against Oman on August 29, as Asian Cricket Council today published the fixture of the tournament to be held in Malaysia from August 29 to September 6.

Six Nations will fight each other for one qualifying spot in the tournament and the winner later joins Asian giants India and Pakistan in Group A of 2018 Asia Cup to be playing in Dubai and Abu Dhabi on September 15-28.

Nepal will kick off their campaign against Oman on August 29 at Bayuemas Oval then play UAE at Kinrara Oval on August 30. Likewise, they will take on host Malaysia on September 1 at Bayuemas Oval and completes the round-robin group playing against Hong Kong on September 4 at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Oval ground.

With the completion of round-robin phase, the top two teams advances to the final on September 6 at the Kinrara Oval.

The 14th edition of Asia Cup will be an one-day international tournament as ACC reverted back from T20 format.

Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are in group B. India are the defending champion of Asia Cup defeating Bangladesh in the 2016 final.
