The Nepalese Cricket Team has lost a fourth consecutive final match. On Wednesday, Nepal suffered a big 86-run defeat against PNG at Mission Road Ground in the final of the Hong Kong Men’s T20I series.
Nepal last won the final match during the ACC Premier Cup 2023 when they defeated UAE and clinched the title. Since then Nepal has lost four consecutive finals, all in T20I.
Nepal lost the final of the T20I Tri-Series between Nepal, Hong Kong and UAE on October 2023. After winning all four league matches, Nepal faced a defeat at the hands of UAE.
In November 2023, Oman handed a thrilling defeat to Nepal in the final of the T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier. The match went to super over after a tied score where Oman bagged a win. Both Nepal and Oman qualified for the T20 World Cup.
The Nepalese side faced a setback in the final of a recently concluded Tri-Series between Nepal, Netherlands and Namibia. Nepal made it to the finals after losing the first two and emerging victorious in the next two. However, the Netherlands handed a defeat to Nepal in the final.
On March 13, PNG thrashed Nepal in the final of Hong Kong Men’s T20I series which is their fourth consecutive defeat in the finals.
