Our main goal is to qualify for 2020 T20 World Cup in Australia: Umesh Patwal

Umesh Patwal, the new head coach of Nepal Men’s cricket team has set his goal to qualify for 2020 ICC T20 World Cup in Australia after signing an one-year contract today.

Speaking to the press, Patwal is quite hopeful about Nepal’s qualification for upcoming ICC event.

“Special thanks to ICC and Sports Council of Nepal for putting an extra effort to make sure I’ve been appointed as the head coach of Nepal”, Patwal said.

“Hopefully, what we’ve thought about in next few months, we need to make sure that we all come together as Nepal Cricket fraternity to help Nepal grow as cricketing Nation”, he further added.

“Nepal is the strongest cricket playing nation in Asia and the World. We would like to play the T20 World Cup in Australia”

“Hopefully we’ll get there, that will be the main goal of for us. There is still time for Qualifiers and boys are playing some cricket and that’s the most important thing.”

When he was asked about Why Nepal, he praised the people and the players. “It’s the people and the guys I’ve worked with, they are passionate about the game and players have a good heart. The kind of effort the players have put in the last two years, that’s the reason I choose Nepal”, he answered.
