Raju, Yogendra shines in Nepal U19’s win

Kathmandu- Skipper Raju Rijal and Yogendra Karki blasted half centuries as Nepal U19 thrashed Vijay Dahiya Cricket Club by 37 runs in the second practice match played at St. Stephen’s Cricket Ground, East Delhi on Wednesday.

Nepal posted 239 runs before being all out in 48.4 overs after winning the toss and restricted Vijay Dahiya Cricket Club for just 202 runs.

Skipper Raju Rijal, having scored 46 runs in the first match went on to make 66 runs off 82 balls that included 9 fours. Yogendra Karki made 62 runs off 82 balls including 9 fours and a six as it helped Nepal U19 to post 239 runs on the board.

The duo shared a partnership of 106 runs for the fifth wicket that set the foundation of Nepal’s batting. Rajbir Singh contributed unbeaten 22 runs for Nepal U19.

Hemank grabbed three wickets for Vijay Dahiya Cricket Club while Jalag picked two wickets.

Defending 240 runs, Nepal U19 displayed brilliant fielding effort making five run outs as Vijay Dahiya Cricket Club were restricted for 202 runs in 48.2 overs. Jalaj’s brilliant 84 runs of 102 balls went in vain as other batsman including Skipper Priyanshu Vijayran, also a T20 Ranji Player, failed to shine with the bat.

Apart from the run outs, Aarif Sheikh and Kushal Bhurtel managed two wickets apiece for Nepal U19.

Vijay Dahiya Cricket Club includes players representing Delhi’s state and Ranji team including Priyanshu Vijayran (T20 ranji player Delhi), Vivek Rana (U-19 & U23 State player of Delhi), Amrit Pal Singh (State Player of Delhi) and Ajay Ahlawat (U19 State Player of Delhi).
