Rubina’s five-for has Nepalgunj crashed out

Kathmandu- A five wicket haul from Nepal Armed Police Force Skipper Rubina Chettri had Neplagunj crashed out from the semi-final of the Women’s National 2015 in TU, Kritipur on Friday.

(Nepal APF 66/3, 15.3 overs: Sarita Magar22) beat (Nepalgunj 65/10, 36.5 overs: Mamta Thapa 25, Rubina Chettri 5/12) by seven wickets.

Riding on Rubina’s impressive bowling, Nepal APF restricted R-5 (Nepalgunj) for just 66 runs in 36.5 overs. Rubina finished with figures 8-2-12-5. She was equally supported other bowlers, particularly Sita Rana Magar who also picked up 2 wickets. Mamta Thapa turned out to be the lone warrior for Nepalgunj scoring 25 not out off 63 balls, while 14 extras stood the second highest score in Nepalgunj’s innings, where none other batswoman crossed double digit figures.

Nepal APF chased the target easily in the 16th over losing three wickets. Opener Madhu Thapa contributed 16 runs in Nepal APF’s chase while Sarita Magar and Neera Rajopadhaya remained not out on 22 and 7 runs respectively.

Nepal APF faces R-7 (Janakpur) in the final tomorrow at TU Ground, Kritipur.
