Sagar Pun guides TAC to final, NPC survives Gauchan’s threat

Kathmandu- Sagar Pun’s four wicket haul guided Tribhuwan Army Club to the final defeating New Horizon Cricket Club by 8 wickets in the first semi-final of the 1st Ruslan Cup 2072. In the second semi-final, Nepal Police Club survived Shakti Gauchan’s threat to gain victory over favorites Armed Police Force.

TAC Vs New Horizon

Sagar Pun and Chandra Saud shared seven wickets between them as TAC restricted New Horizon Club 84 for 10 in 20 overs. Pun grabbed four wickets in the process conceding just 8 runs that won him the Man of the Match award.

Nirmal Thapa scored 20 runs for the losing side with 20 runs from 31 balls. TAC chased the target with ease losing just 2 wickets in 14.5 overs Sagar Pun socred 26 runs while Naresh Budhayer and Binod Bhandari remained not out on 20 and 18 runs respectively.

NPC Vs APF

In one of the most exciting clash of the competition, Nepal Police Club survived Shaki Gauchan’s four wickets threat to defeat a star-studded Armed Police side by five wickets.

Defending just 123 runs, Shakti Gauchan produced an excellent spell of 4-1-13-4, but that was not enough for them to defeat NPC. Shankar Rana and Amit Shrestha played big part in the win sharing 75 runs for the 2nd wicket. Rana scored 36 runs while Shrestha got out for 34 runs.

Earlier, Subash Khakurel’s  half-century guided APF to 122 for 8 in 20 overs. APF were 91 for 2 at one stage, but brilliant bowling from Manjeet Shrestha and Dipendra Airee made sure that APF fell 20-30 runs shorter.

Man of the match Manjeet Shrestha grabbed three wickets and Dipendra Airee grabbed two wickets.

NPC takes TAC in the final tomorrow Tribhuwan Cricket Stadium, Kritipur.
