Kathmandu- Both Sainik Awasiya Mahavidyalay ‘A’ and ‘B’ advanced into the semi-finals of 8th COAS Inter School Running Cricket Tournament 2071 recording easy wins.
SAMV ‘A’ VS Rajan Memorial
Sainik Awasiya Mahavidyalay ‘A’ advanced the semi-final of 8th COAS Running Cricket Tournament with a thumping win over Rajan Memorial School in the 3rd quarter-final.
SAMV ‘A’ posted 138/8 in allotted overs thanks to Bishnu Kumal’s 39 off 42 balls and Manoj Pandit’s 37 off 28 balls that included 3 fours and 2 sixes. Sujan Chapagain picked 3 wickets for Rajan Memorial.
SAMV ‘A’ then restricted Rajan Memorial for only 58 runs in 17.2 overs thanks to some outstanding bowling from their bowlers. Ashim Shrestha batting at No.7 top scored with 17 runs while nine other batsman crossed double digit mark for Rajan. Bishal Budathoki took four wickets, while Mandip Bhandari also got two wickets in just 1.2 overs he bowled.
SAMV ‘B’ VS Malpi Int’l School
In the fourth quarter-finals, SAMV ‘B’ defeated Malpi Int’l School by 52 runs to enter to the semis. Praful shrestha and Ashish Chaulagain shared six wickets between them as SAMV ‘b’ restricted Malpi for just 49 runs defending a target of 102 runs. Praful conceded only 4 runs in his quota of 3.3 overs.
Earlier, SAMV ‘B’made 101/9 in 20 overs. Ashim Malla top scored with 27 runs for the winners while they got 33 runs as extras. Ashim Adhikari grabbed 4 wickets for Malpi.
