Sandeep Lamichhane to represent Desert Vipers in ILT20

Nepal’s national cricket team captain, Sandeep Lamichhane has been signed by Desert Vipers for the inaugural edition of International League T20, United Arab Emirates (UAE)’s major franchise league. Earlier, Lamichhane was announced as the marquee player for the tournament.

Along with Nepal’s spin sensation, Desert Vipers announced the signing of big international names. Sam Billings, Alex Hales, Tom Curran, Sheldon Cottrell, Colin Munro, and Wanindu Hasaranga will be playing for the Vipers. England’s James Foster has been named as the side’s head coach while Tom Moody is declared the director of cricket.

The MI Emirates, Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, Sharjah Warriors, Dubai Capitals, Desert Vipers, and Gulf Giants will be battling for the title of the maiden season of ILT20, owned by Reliance Industries, Kolkata Knight Riders, Capri Global, GMR Group, Lancer Capital, and Adani Sportsline respectively.

Nine out of eleven players on each team can be overseas players. Two players on each team must be a UAE player and a player from an Associate Member nation respectively.
