Sompal Kami scored his second ODI fifty in ODI cricket against Oman in Nepal’s second match of the ACC Men’s Premier Cup on Friday at T.U. cricket ground in Kirtipur.

Kami came to the crease after the dismissal of Dipendra Singh Airee at 35.3 overs. Nepal were 172 and lost six wickets, however, Kushal Malla at the other end was striking the balls with boundaries and sixes and reached his maiden ODI hundred. Sompal, at the other end, didn’t take long to join the party.

He smacked nine boundaries and completed his fifty in just 39 balls. Both Malla and Sompal shared a 49-run partnership for the eighth wicket. Once, Kushal was dismissed in the 41st over, Sompal held the innings with the tail and added a vital 50-run partnership with Karan KC 29 (15) for the ninth wicket. The third powerplay (40-50 ov) produced 92 runs, thanks to Sompal who helped Nepal to reach the first-ever 300-run landmark in Nepal’s ODI history.

Previously, Sompal completed a half-century against the Netherlands in Nepal’s second ODI match on August 3, 2018.
