Sunshine College cruised Farewst University by 11 runs to reach the quarter-finals of Hotel Devotee SPA Cup 2015.
Sunshine won the toss and decided to bat first. They posted a competitive total of 173/7 thanks largely to twin fourties from Mayank Yadav (45 off 35 balls) and Antim Thapa (40 off 26 balls). Sabin Shakya provided some acceleration towards the end, blasting 23 runs off 12 balls, helping Sunshine post a good total. Mahesh Shahi took 3 wickets for Farwest.
In reply, a slow batting from top order cost Farwest the match. Farwest top 3 batsman could manage just 70 runs in 10 overs against a climbing run rate. Wickets crumbled further as Farwest could only manage 162/8 in 20 overs. Mahesh Shah’s 34 runs off 17 balls didn’t proved enough at the end for Farwest. Dipendra Yadav and Mayank Yadav pikced two wickets each for Sunshine.
