Sunshine stuns host SPA in a record chase

Dhangadhi- Sunshine College of stunned title favorites and tournament host Sudur Paschimanchal Academy (SPA) by 7 wickets to enter the semi-finals of the Hotel Devotee SPA Cup 2015 in a match played in Dhangadhi on Thursday.

In what was a epic encounter, Sunshine won the toss and invited SPA to bat first. They piled up a huge total thanks to a wonderful start provided by Subash Khakurel 77 off 48 balls and Sharad Veswakar 47 runs off 26 balls. At the end Dipendra Airee 38* runs off just 10 balls and Bhuwan Karki made sure that a good start is converted into a big total. SPA managed 239/4 in 20 overs. Shankar Rana picked 2 wickets for Sunshine.

Sunshine lost their opener Shankar Rana for 24 runs chasing a huge target but Subodh Shrivastav held one end hitting some magnificent shots, and later Mayank Yadav took the charge and finished things off. The duo defied the SPA attack putting on an 101-run match winning stand for the second wicket which was enough for sunshine to win the match in 19.1 over with 3 wickets lost. Man of the match Mayank Yadav scored 73 runs just off 33 balls with 5 sixes and 6 fours while Subodh scored 87 runs off 42 balls.
