76 ball Century for Sompal

Som Pal Kami(Thapa) smashed 115 of just 85 balls to mark the start of U-19 Regional Selection . Riding on his heroics Kathmandu posted 292 runs in 40 overs against Nuwakot in the first match of the tournament. Nuwakot in reaply were folded for 61 runs in 19.4 overs

Som Pal Kami who had also been part of Nepali Senior Camp as he had impressed the coach with his fast bowling skills in the recently concluded T20 National Tournament.

Som Pal hit as many as 15 fours and four sixes in his innings. Reaching 50 off 54 balls he got to his century in just 76 balls.

Sharad Khadka 35, Prakash Bista 30 and Bibhatsu Thapa 25 all contributed with double digits score against a weak Nuwakot side. Kausal Pandey and Rajiv Mahrajan picked 3 wickets each for Nuwakot.

Sanjay Shah top scored for Nuwakot with 19 runs. Rabin Khadka got three wickets for Kathmandu to restrict Nuwkot to very small total. The century maker Som Pal also grabbed a wicket with his fast bowling.

In the other match played yesterday Bhaktapur edged past Lalitpur by 24 runs. batting first Bhaktapur riding on half century from Sumit Maharjan scored 199 /10 in 38.2 overs. Ujjal Thapa and Milan Karki picked 2 wickets each for Lalitpur. In reply Lalitpur could manage only 175 runs in their 40 overs. Milan Thapa top scored fot Lalitpur with 61 runs. Adil Khan contributed with 39.
