Anil Sah shine as Madhesh Province starts PM Cup with a win

Madhes Province has started their PM Cup campaign with a big win over Province 1. Anil Sah’s half-century and clinical bowling display inspired Madhes to beat Province 1 by 72 runs at Mulpani Cricket Ground.

Invited to bat first, Madhes had a shaky start losing three wickets for 30 runs. Anil Sah then anchored the inning, adding 68 runs with Rohan Bk (28) for the fourth wicket. Sah added 41 more runs with Bibek Yadav before departing for 61 runs. Bibek and Rupesh Singh contributed 32 and 30 runs respectively, to drag their side to 214 before being bowled out in 48.1 overs.

Firdosh Ansari was the pick of a bowler for Province 1, pocketing a fifer (9.1-1-34-5). Sidhhant Lohani also took three scalps.

In reply, Province 1 were bundled out for 142 runs in 43.1 overs. Three batters were sent back for a duck, including last match’s centurion Ankit Subedi and skipper Sidhhant Lohani. Luv Kamat topped the scorecard with 29 runs, while Bibek Mehta and Firdosh Ansari scored 25 and 24 runs.

Aadil Aalam, Rupesh Singh, Pradip Paswan, and Bishal Sushling pocketed a couple of wickets each for Madhes. Rajesh Yadav also grabbed one wicket.

Anil Sah was adjudged as player of the match for his 61 runs knock.

On the other match at TU Cricket Ground, Nepal Police Club bagged three wins in a row after Dipendra Singh Airee’s all-round show.
