APF and Birgunj win

Cricnepal/Kathmandu: APF and Region number 2 Birgunj won their respective matches of Pepsi standard Chartered National One day tournament played today

APF vs Baitadi

In the match played at TU international Ground APF registered its second win against Baitadi by 111 runs, this time the strong bowling line up coming to their rescue after the batsmen failed to put up a good show to APF.

Winning the toss and batting first APF lost Shubash for naught at score of 5, bowled off Yagya Man Kamal’s bowling.The second wicket added 93, Paresh Lohani making 52 of 56 balls before getting out. Baitadi then came back with wickets and eventually restricted APF for a 215 runs in 50 overs.Prem tamang picke up 3 wickets while Bhuwan Karki and Ramesh Chand  bagged two wickets each for Baitadi

In reply Sangam and Basanta Regmi ran through Baitadi’s innings sharing 7 wickets in between. Roshan Nepali was topscored for Baitadi with 36 of 78 balls before falling to Sangam.Naresh Budayer made 19 while Prem Tamang made 13.  Bhuwan Karki scored 14 of 19 balls with 2 fours and a six.The other batsmen were not even able to put up double digits behind their names as Baitadi perished for 104 runs

Basanta Regmi was declared man of the match for his four wickets of 10 overs giving away only 24 runs.

Birgunj vs Nepalgunj

Birgunj defeated Nepalgunj by 39 runs in the match played at Engineerign Ground Pulchowk.

Winning the toss Birgunj chose to bat first and posted a medium score of 209 runs thanks to half centuries form opener Aasif Sheikh and number five Shiv Tandukar. Ashif made 51 of 111 balls with 7 fours while Tandukar got his runs much quicker with two fours and 3 sixes of just 67 balls Sanjay Mahrajan mande an unbeaten 31 of 23 balls to guide the score past 200. Nepalgunj’s  Anupam Singh took five wickets.

In reply Nepal gunj were folded for 170 runs in 47th over.Kumar Thapa picked up 3 wickets for Birgunj of his 10 overs and gave away only 17 runs. Hasim Ansari picked up two while Avinash Karna, Jitendra Mukhiya and Ramnaresh Giri each picked up a wicket each, to restrict Nepalgunj to a low score.Shubendu Pandey top scored for Nepalgunj with 64 of 92 balls
