APF reaches Final; thrashes Pokhara by 95 runs

Cricnepal/Kathmandu – Departmental Team – Armed Police Force (APF) and Region Number 6 Baitadi reached the Final of Pepsi Standard Chartered T20 National Cricket Tournament with respective victories on Friday. APF thrashed Region No. 8 Pokhara by 95 runs in the first Semifinal match played at  T.U. Ground, Kirtipur today while in the second semi final Baitadi defeated Region Number 4 Bhairahawa by 1 wicket.

Batting First, APF posted 160 runs in their 20 overs with losing just 3 wickets. Paras Khadka scored 51 (not out) and Subash Khakurel scored 38 runs before he was retired hurt. For Pokhara, Rahul Vishwakarma managed to take 2 wickets.

In reply, Pokhara were bundled out for just 65 runs in 17th over. Anil Gurung & Rijan Prajoo top scored with 15 and 11 runs respectively. Sanjam Regmi’s 4 and 3 wickets from Sharad Vesawakar helped APF to go through the Final of the tournament.

Meanwhile, Baitadi defeated Bhairahawa by 1 wicket in the an exciting semi final match. Batting first Bhairahawa put a total of 109 losing nine wickets in 20 overs. Sagar Pun top scored with 39 runs while for Baitadi, Chandra Sawad claimed four wickets. In reply, Baitadi chased the target in the last ball. Prem Tamang top scored for Baitadi with 31 runs. Bibek Chaudhary claimed maximum four wickets for Bhairahawa.

Last year runner up APF will face Baitadi on the final on Saturday.
