APF win Deepak Memorial T-20 Cricket Tournament

Kathmandu/Cricnepal: Armed Police Force(APF) Cricket team  won the 1st Deepak Memorial T-20 Cricket Tournament, held in Janakpur, beating Samastipur from India by four wickets in the final on Wednesday.

Winning the toss and battng first Samstipur were knocked over for 96 runs. Thanks to incredible bowling performance by player of the match Rom Shrestha. Shrestha picked up 3 vital wickets and gave away only 9 runs in his four overs. Member of senior men’s team Basanta Regmi bowled with an economy of less than a run a over giving away only two runs and also bagged 3 wickets. Nishant Kumar scored 42 runs for the Samastipur.

APF got to the target losing 6 wickets in 19.2 overs. Sharad Veswakar scored a run a ball, thirty for APF.

With the win APF bagged the Rs 41000 cash prize, runner up Samastipur receive Rs. 21000. Sharad veswakar was declared the player of the tournament, while the bowling star of final Rom Shrestha, received the bolwer of the tournament award. Ashaf Khan from Samastipur was announced the batsman of the tournament. The player of the tournament, best batsmen and best bowler each received a cash prize of Rs.5000

The final ceremony was conducted in presence Chief Guest Keshav Ghimere (V.President CAN), Guest Uttam Karmacharya (Secretary CAN) and Sanjib Pandey (Member CAN).

With this win APF continue their dominance in Nepali Cricket in both men’s and women’s category
