Baskota out for at least Nine Months

Kathmandu – National Cricketer Prithu Baskota injured himself during the training session at TU Cricket ground and is likely to miss at least nine months of his cricketing assignments.

Baskota damaged his left knee ligament and is currently undergoing treatment and rest since last week. He needs an operation straightaway and will likely miss the upcoming ICC World T20 Qualifiers to be held in UAE in November.

He was injured while warming up with a football during the second day of training for the upcoming tournament. “The recovering period extends from nine to twelve months”, Arjun Adhikary, a medical Doctor at Teaching Hospital told to Annapurna Post Daily.

“The operation is must and he is likely to miss the T20 and the ODI Qualifiers. We will be sending his MRI Report to Canada or India and will be investigating further. We will talk to the specialist and will be listening their advices, and then only we will decide for the operation procedure”, Pubudu Dassanayake, the coach of the national cricket team told.

The former U-19 Cricket Captain is regular team member of Nepali Cricket since 2012.
