Bhairahawa joins Biratnagar in final

Cricnepal/Kathmandu: Region Number 4 Bhairahawa entered into the final of the Wai Wai Under 19 National Cricket Tournament with a 6 wickets victory over Region Number 5 Nepalgunj in an semi final encounter today at Rangashala Ground, Pokhara.

Nepalgunj who chose to bat first after winning the toss, scored 179 runs in 49.4 overs. Nepalgunj had a fine start with the openers Siddhant Shahi and Wasim Halwai adding 65 runs for first wicket. Siddhant scored 52 runs off 75 balls with seven fours and a six while Hasim added 20 runs off 64 balls. Inamuddin Halwai remained unbeaten at 33 runs entering as a number ten batsman.

Rahul Pokhrel 14, Amar Singh Routela 14, , Prajjwal Shahi 10 and Aakash Bista 10 were some other major contributors. Bibek Chaudhary claimed three wickets, Susan Bhari picked up two wickets while Devendra Somare, Eklakh Ahamed and Nirmal Thapa shared a wicket each for Bhairahawa.

In reply, Bhairahawa chased the target in 36.1 overs losing four wickets. Bhairahawa lost their first wicket in fourth over as Shankar Rana was trapped leg before wicket for 27 runs. Player of the match Nirmal Thapa added 65 runs off 95 balls while also shared 49 runs partnership with Sabin Shakya (13) and 76 runs partnership with Prakash KC. Prakash remained unbeaten with 41 runs and guided the team to victory. Bhupendra Roka Magar, Siddhant Shahi, Aakash Bista and Inamuddin Halwai claimed a wicket each for Nepalgunj.

Bhairahawa will take on Region Number 1 Biratnagar in the finals to be played on Thursday.
