Biratnagar to construct international level cricket ground

Cricnepal/Kathmandu: Region Number 1 Biratnagar finally is to start the construction of international level cricket ground as government allocated 6 million NRs for the construction of the ground in Baijanathpur VDC.

National Sports Council(NSC) member secretary Yuvaraj Lama on Monday ordered the regional cricket association to start the construction within a month during a function organized in Biratnagar on Monday.

Aimed for the seventh national games, the construction was expected to begin earlier but the process couldn’t go on because of the illegal seizing of few parts of the allocated area. The regional cricket association had already received the permission for the construction on September. The construction has been in priority list of National Sports Council (NSC) and the Nepal Government.

Government have already called tender for the construction on Thursday.

The function was also attended by NSC member Kiran Giri, regional development committe president Kiran Rai, chief Lababhakta Shrestha, senior coach Narayan Pradhan, regional cricket development committee president Bhim Parajuli, secretary Sailendra Raj Nepal, vice secretary Rishi Bachan Yadav.
