Blue beat Red in practice

Kathmandu/Cricnepal: In the practice match of the U-19 team(Going for Asia Cup) organized by CAN here on Monday at TU ground,Kirtipur the blue team under leadership of Prithu Bankota beat the Red team lead by Rahul Vishwakarma by 5 wickets.

The red team won the toss and decided to bat first.But they were all out for 149 runs in just 38.5 overs. The openers Subash Khakurel and Pradeep Airee made 41 runs partnership for the first wicket. Pradeep played an excellent innings of 40 runs by hitting 8 fours while Subash contributed 16 runs for the guys in Red. Naresh Budhyaer scored 24 runs for the team. Siddhant Lohani had 10 runs in his account. Other batsmen werent able to make double figure score.

Sagar Pun boweld excellently for the blue team.He took 2 wickets for just 5 runs. Never theless, Rupesh Shrivastav took 3 wickets giving away 31 runs. Krishna Karki, Binod Lama , Hasim Ansari and Prithu Banskota had 1 wicket registered in their respective account.

With unbeaten 42 runs from the skipper Prithu , team blue reached the target losing 5 wickets in just 31.4 overs.Fajlur Reheman contributed 28 runs for the team. Team blue took the batting power play at 15.1 overs and it ended in 19.6 overs.Pawan shrestha and Shiva Kumar Tandulkar respectively scored 16 and 15 runs for the men in blues.

Rahul Vishwakarma and Aviansh Karna both took 2 wickets while Nischal Pandey took a single wicket. But this was not enough for the red team for victory and hence they lost ,by 5 wickets. Vinay Kumar Jha and Ravindra Gupta were the Umpires for the game.
