CAN inks deal worth Rs 21 million with CG Foods

Kathmandu/Cricnepal: Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) and CG Foods Company on Monday inked a sponsorship deal worth Rs 21 million for five years.

As per the deal, the CAN will invest Rs 1.8 million every year for organizing National U-19 Tournament for boys´ and Rs 900,000 for girls´ tournament.

Likewise, Rs 1.5 million will be allocated for regional tournaments and on cash prizes. Wai Wai, the instant noodles of CG Group will also sponsor Nepali U19 team for international participation.

Cricket Association of Nepal President Tanka Aangbuhang and Chaudhary Group´s Managing Director Nirvan Chaudhary signed the Memorandum of Understanding.

CG Foods managing director Nirvana Chaudhary said that Wai Wai is proud to sponsor the Nepal U19 team and the tournaments. The youths have brought up a feeling of unity and a good support from the corporate sector is needed.

CG has been the sponsor of different age-group tournaments and teams.

Signing the MoU, CAN President Aangbuhang claimed that cricket would lead us to world cup and these sort of help will get Nepal to a better state soon.

Chief guest, member secretary of the National Sports Council, Yuvaraj Lama said that the government has some plans to invest on cricket. He also said that the sponsorship is very important in sports and urged the other corporate sector to come and support Nepali Sports.
