Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has postponed the four two-day cricket matches proposed by the national coach.

The refusal came immediately from CAN as they are planning to schedule the national squad tour to India late January.

The proposal of two day matches came from non-other than the national team coach Pubudu Dassanayake in order to give more exposure and match practices to the players in the next level.

“I was bit disappointed with CAN’s negation but the next announcement of touring India has really made me to have more concern on it”, Coach said.

The National Squad will tour to India for 2-3 weeks. Before the tour, players will undergo training and will play practice matches.

“Our players had enough off the practices at the home ground and with similar opponents. Therefore, we are taking our players to India,” said CAN President Tanka Angbuhang.

“We want our players to get acquainted with conditions of other pitches,” he added. However, Aangbuhang said that CAN is yet to finalize opponents for the practice matches.

Angbuhang also informed that CAN would conduct the two-day matches later in the year.

Meanwhile, National Cricket captain Paras Khadka said that the India tour, which CAN has announced to conduct in late January, would be fruitful for the team. “This is a good step taken by CAN for the players before heading for the UAE for the World T20 Qualifiers to be held in March,” said Khadka.
