CAN reveals Nepal women’s squad for ACC Women’s Premier Cup

The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has unveiled the national women’s squad for the ACC Women’s Premier Cup. Indu Barma will lead the 14-player squad.

Dolly Bhatta, known for her powerful hitting, has returned to the team, marking a comeback. Additionally, pacer Kabita Kunwar, who was sidelined due to an injury, has also made a return. The team has welcomed back spinner Sangita Rai and batter Roma Thapa as well.

Scheduled for February 2024, the inaugural edition of the ACC Women’s Premier Cup is set to take place in Malaysia. This tournament serves as the qualification pathway for the 2024 Women’s Twenty20 Asia Cup. Sixteen teams will compete in the tournament with the top two teams earning qualification for the Asia Cup.

Nepal is placed in Group D alongside Hong Kong, Bhutan and Maldives. The Nepalese women’s team is scheduled to kick off their campaign on February 10 against Hong Kong. They will face Bhutan and Maldives on February 11 and 13, respectively.

Group C – Bahrain, Malaysia, Indonesia, Qatar
Group D – Nepal, Hong Kong, Maldives, Bhutan
